An elderly Jewelry designer was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the Jewelry design industry business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family and take some long trips and see the country. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire, it was time to leave. They could get by his savings and the small fortune that he accumulated.
The contractor His Boss, was sorry to see his good worker, the Jewelry designer, leave his job and asked if he could build just one more Jewelry as a personal favor to him for all the past good years of their relationship.
The Jewelry designer said, “Yes.” But in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to inadequate workmanship and used inferior materials, things did not exactly matched and some things did not work properly. It was an unfortunate way to end his career like this.
When the Jewelry designer finished his work on the jewelry on the last day, his Boss came to inspect the jewelry, the Boss handed the front-door key to the Jewelry designer, plus all the paperwork of months ‘long preparation and said to his employee”This is your jewelry,” he said,” my gift to you!” for all your hard work over the years,
What as shock it was to the Jewelry designer! If he had only known he was building his own jewelry, he would have done it all so differently and tried harder and used better materials and so on and on.
So, My friend the Jewelery maker, it is with us that we build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than our best. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the “jewelry” we have built.
If we had just realized that we would have done it so differently.
Remember….Each day you ” Polish Hermes jewelry, customize Cartier jewelry.”
Customize it wisely, It is the only life you will ever build.
Even if you live it for only one day more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity.
A plaque on my wall says, “Brand jewelry customization is the project of my life.” What or who could say it more clearly? Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.
